Harry

It isn't new but I decided to read the entire Harry Potter series, which isn't really new news because I'm on the fifth book already. However, one new thing is: this is the first one I can't seem to put down and I've actually starting to become addicted.

These are designs for a more developed piece to come later:

The better news would be me landing two separate freelance jobs. I don't have many details yet, except one includes Edgar Allen Poe...so that should be pretty exciting. More to come.

Boo!

I haven't been home for autumn in a while. It has been palm trees, sun and beaches for the past four years. The chilly weather and the feeling of the season changing is getting me in the Halloween mood early.

Florida

I just got back from Florida visiting my girlfriend and Ringling. It was really nice and it offered a lot of time with my sketchbook. Here's some doodles from the trip:

My little goldfish I left home, Pierre:
(He really does have the mustache, hence the name)

My girlfriend likes to take naps

I looked at Chris Sanders a little to help with a simplistic drawing style, and naturally, women.

This was an assignment from last semester I found in my sketchbook.
I was told to draw a single landscape from multiple perspectives.
This is what I came up with:

Thanks for looking,

Render Crunch

Here's the truck for my thesis. It's still a little in progress (i.e. the bird feed texture and the bucket/sign textures) But this is the general look in 3D. I'm really excited about it. Now I can't wait to stick it in an environment.

Portraits

I did around 50 vector portraits of my residents here on campus. A lot of them were rushed because of the tight deadline I had, but here are a few of my favorites.

First Render

I'm rounding the corner on my thesis. We were asked to provide a finalize image; how we would want the film to look when it's finished. This is what I came up with:

We'll see if I can make it happen...

I'm taking figure drawing this semester. After two years of not having touched traditional media to draw a figure, I definitely wasn't displeased with the results.

Sketchbook

I know the only thing I posted first semester was the bird-lady from the digital sketch club, but I've got stuff I wanna post now and I'm going to keep at it so it's more on the regular.

These are a few sketches from my sketchbook while I was looking around, bored in class or unusually inspired

Bird Lady

This was for the Digital Painting Sketch Club at Ringling with this week featuring Gabby Zapata, if you haven't seen her blog, check it out! It's awesome stuff. She chose the topic and sketched for all the underclassmen. It was a great time. Hoping to do it again in the future.

News

I don't have anything visually to show...but I have updated my "Places to go" and "People to See:" sections.

There's a lot of cool people to see, including some animators at Sony where I'm interning this summer! It's an awesome environment and there's a lot of really talented people.

I'll be back to school in a week from now, so that's when I'll update the blog with everything new from out here...hopefully I'll have some animation as well. Until then...

UPDATED Demo Reel

Portfolio Time

I'm getting all of my work together for Internships this summer and it's incredible looking at the amount of stuff I have and how much I've progressed with just the few years I've been at Ringling. These are some 3D renders of a self-caricature model we're working on, which'll eventually end up in a Lipsync Animation. I was excited about the final product.

Chickens

I'm continuing with the chicken-chase. So I did some chicken designs...
I'm liking some more than others. Some turned into pigeon-like birds. And there's a three-eyed one in there to play around with the idea of mutating and extra appendages.
